We are a small family operation that employs sustainable, organic and humane principals to all of our farming endeavors.
We planted lavender initially because it is beautiful, drought tolerant, gopher proof and deer resistant. Only later did we discover and study all of the many healing attributes of the fresh flowers, essential oils and hydrosols. Lavender is truly the Swiss Army Knife of essential oils. We also distill Pine, Eucalyptus, Rose, Jasmine, White Sage, Purple Sage, California Sagebrush, some citrus blossoms and garden herbs such as Rosemary, Mint, Thyme and Oregano. See our blog section for a rundown and the many uses of our cultivated and wildcrafted herbs. We also purchase some oils to add to some of the medicinal blends that we offer.
We also grow almonds, pit fruit, berries and raise horses, chickens, ducks and geese. We have four barn cats and a chihuahua. We are in a relatively quiet area that abounds in wildlife that includes deer, bobcats, coyotes, fox, raccoons and, yes, even mountain lions.
PS That big house in the background is not part of our farm (alas)
